Experience Music Project – Seattle, WA

EMP (140,000sf) is the “first” truly interactive music museum in the world. It opened in June of 2000 in the Seattle Center, next to the famous space Needle. It was founded by visionary Paul Allen and the architectural design was by world-renowned Frank Gehry.

Our responsibilities included: space programming with the owner and architect; assisting curatorial teams to refine storylines; space planning for Sound Lab; development of listening booths; conceptualization of “On Stage”; layout of all artifacts; graphic design and layout of all interpretive exhibit panels; interface
with lighting designer; development of construction documents; supervision of construction and installation.
